Elgin National Watch Company Railroad Dial No. 2399
Before introducing the iconic No. 49 railroad dial around 1908, the double-sunk No. 2399 dial was one of the most popular dials fitted on railroad watches at the Elgin National Watch Company factory.
This dial, introduced around 1897, featured red five-minute indicators around the parameter, extra heavy Arabic hour numerals, and the fleur-de-lis Old English signing style.
The No. 2399 dial is typically found on railroad-grade movements offered by the company from 1897 to 1908.
