Private Label Trade Names on American Pocket Watches: “Burlington Watch Co.” Part 2: The Movement
During production, watches were offered by the Burlington Watch Company in a variety of sizes and styles. The Illinois Watch Company manufactured watches sold in the United States, while watches sold in Canada were produced by Henry Moser & Co.
The most common Burlington watch was derived from the Illinois 16-Size Model 9, featuring a false center bridge plate design. While some dials are marked “Burlington Special,” most movements are simply marked “Burlington Watch Co. Chicago” or branded with a “BWCo.” monogram. Similar to the “Santa Fe Special,” the adjustments are generally indicated as “Adjusted to Temperature & Positions.”
