c.1892 New York Standard Grade 41: “The Pretty Face”
c.1892 New York Standard Grade 41 (18-Size, Model 6, 11 Jewels). In 1892, in an attempt to increase sales, the New York Standard Watch Company began fitting all 11-Jewel movements with fancy glass-enameled dials. Unfortunately, this scheme was not as successful as the company had hoped, and the 11-Jewel grades were discontinued. These dials represent one of the few occasions when we can safely determine the grade of the watch by simply looking at the dial with reasonable certainty.
I have one of these pretty watches , it’s the 7 jewel model from 1892 , the dial is blue silver and gold , it runs great and keeps very good time , it’s in a 60mm swing out case ..
Is there a place to find out about Jules Jurgensen pocket watches?
