New York Standard, Grade 41, c.1895 [Movement Image]
The New York Standard Watch Company specialized in inexpensive watches for the low-end market. As a result, most have been “trashed” over the years and not many have survived in prime condition. However, I recently came across this example in nearly pristine condition. This represents the finest watch offered by the company at the time, featuring 11 jewels in raised settings, a glass enameled dial, and “morning glory” hands.
